South Korea’s LG Energy Solution to expand its Battery-as-a-Service business

LG Energy Solution and Mintech have entered into an investment and joint R&D agreement to collaborate on the development of advanced battery diagnostic algorithms, software, and systems. Mintech, a startup known for its faster battery diagnostic technology, can assess battery status within just 20 minutes compared to the typical 2-hour timeframe.

Additionally, Mintech is making preparations to list using the special technology listing system in South Korea. This partnership will enable LG Energy Solution to enhance its B-Lifecare service, a comprehensive battery management solution. The service empowers users to easily monitor important battery information such as remaining EV driving range, battery ageing status, charging history, driving and charging habits, and other relevant data through a mobile application.

Currently, around 5,000 EV owners are utilising the B-Lifecare service, and when considering B2B services as well, the number exceeds 8,000 vehicles.

This collaboration reflects LG Energy Solution’s commitment to providing innovative and reliable battery management solutions while leveraging Mintech’s cutting-edge technology in battery diagnostics.
